The RVIA board of directors approved the 2020 edition of the ANSI A119.5 Park Model RV standard, with an effective date of September 1, 2020 and an enforcement date of January 1, 2021.
To assist RVIA park model manufacturers and provide a roadmap for RVIA inspectors, the association’s standards department publishes the handbook as a companion to the standard. The handbook for 2020 ANSI A119.5 Park Model RV Standard is now available for purchase in the RVIA’s online store.
The updated Park Model RV Handbook contains information on the Park Model RV standard, as well as the RVIA’s enforcement positions on manufacturing park model RVs. The handbook includes more than 200 illustrations and an array of tables and charts.
Its primary purpose is to provide members with a tool to achieve uniformity, based on the 2020 Edition of the ANSI A119.5 Park Model RV Standard and Article 552 of the National Electric Code (NEC 2020). The updated 2020 ANSI A119.5 Park Model RV standard can also be purchased in the online store.
As a requirement of RVIA membership, each park model manufacturer must have at least one copy of the 2020 ANSI A119.5 Park Model RV Standard, the 2020 National Electric Code, and the Park Model RV Handbook present at every production facility operated by that manufacturer.
The RVIA inspection team verifies that the manufacturer has the latest edition at every production campus during their unannounced plant inspections.
