Outdoorsy, an online rental company and RV lending partner, reported RV rentals are at an all-time high.

The company’s Summer Travel Trend Report found consumers want to rent an RV to be convenient and the marketplace is complying.

Of hosts who offer RVs rentals through Outdoorsy, 70% offer RV delivery to the airport, consumer’s home or a campground. First-time visitors account for 76% of Outdoorsy.com bookings.

In the report, Outdoorsy highlighted several consumer trends.

In the past three years, Outdoorsy guests and hosts have skewed younger, with 43% of guests and 52% of hosts identifying as millennials.

Consumers are planning longer trips in 2023. The average Outdoorsy trip was seven days. In 2022, the average trip was 5.8 days long.

The average road trip cost increased by 11% between 2021 and 2023, a jump of around $100 extra for a six-day trip. Outdoorsy said that the average nightly hotel room rate in 2023 is up 54% from 2022.
