RVIA Offers Aid for Chicago Shipping Woes

RVIA messaged members Monday regarding ongoing domestic shipping issues. The association said congressional allies found some progress for companies hoping to see movement in Chicago railyard backups.

“Thanks to Congresswoman Jackie Walorski’s office,” the association wrote, “members who have containers held up in Chicago-area railyards are able to obtain some relief, as the railroads are willing to work with Rep. Walorski’s office and the RV Industry Association to move them. Importantly, they will only be able to help if the company can have a chassis and driver ready.”

The RVIA said companies interested moving any containers stuck in Chicago should send information to Samantha Rocci ([email protected]) as quickly as possible.

The information needed is:

  • Company name
  • Ocean shipper
  • Railroad
  • Container number

Additional information that may be needed includes the company’s freight forwarder, MBL number and HBL number.
