Following the successful launch of an RVTI partnership with Littleton Public Schools in Colorado, RVTI Director Justin Rickett said the association has another prospective partner in the California Area School District in Pennsylvania.
Similar to Littleton’s campus, the CASD plans to integrate RVTI’s Level 1 certification into its curriculum, a move RVTI said would introduce high school students to an RV service technician career.
CASD Superintendent Dr. Laura Jacob said by providing hands-on technical experience, the program will offer CASD students a direct, accessible pathway to a rewarding professional future.
“We are a small school district that takes pride in developing unique hands-on learning opportunities for our students,” Jacob said. “The leaders of our school district — the Board President, Superintendent, and Principal — are avid RVers, and we wanted to build a technician program.”
With that goal in mind, Jacobs researched the Littleton program.
“After a Zoom call together, we knew we wanted to see it in action,” Jacob said. “It was so valuable to visit the [Littleton] Campus and spend time in the classroom to get a feel for how we can develop our program. We are sincerely grateful for their hospitality.”
Rickett said the visit represents an exciting step forward in expanding RVTI’s outreach and impact.
“The opportunity to welcome a second high school partner in the country speaks to the growing momentum behind introducing students to meaningful career pathways earlier,” Rickett said. “The collaboration between the CASD and Littleton Public Schools’ EPIC Campus highlights the power of schools working together to create hands-on, career-focused opportunities.”
During the Colorado meeting, attendees discussed how to get started, student inspiration stories, the class, the exam, hands-on learning applications and funding.
“What we’re most looking forward to is watching students discover a passion for technical work and graduate with more than just a diploma — but an industry-recognized credential that opens doors to meaningful, well-paying careers,” Jacob said. “Level 1 will give our high school students a powerful head start, especially those who learn best by doing. We couldn’t be more optimistic about what this partnership means for the future of our students and our community.”
The Level 1 curriculum will cover the seven RV systems: propane, electrical, plumbing, appliances, body, generator and chassis.
“By engaging students at the high school level,” Rickett said, “we’re not only strengthening workforce development but also inspiring the next generation to explore rewarding careers in the RV industry through the RVTI program.”
