Seminar to Study States’ Outdoor Rec Impact

Mountains and water at Grand Tetons National Park

Earlier this year, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) released the first-ever study on the economic impact of outdoor recreation in each state and the District of Columbia. The study reinforces what the outdoor recreation industry has long believed: outdoor recreation is a powerful driver of national and local economies and it is growing faster than the U.S. economy as a whole.

The RVIA is hosting a webinar on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. EST, as BEA officials walk through the results of the study and what they mean for the RV industry. Members of the RV Industry Association staff will also explain how this new data can support industry efforts in the states, including the initiative establish Offices of Outdoor Recreation in states across the country.

The newly released state numbers are “prototypes,” meaning BEA is looking for feedback on the numbers. The feedback will be used to help finalize data sources and methodology before the numbers are finalized next year. This webinar will also detail how to provide feedback to BEA.

The webinar is open to members and non-members. Those wishing to view the webinar will need to have an RVIA account to access this information. People without an account can click here for instructions on how to create an account.
