Adventure vehicle manufacturer Storyteller Overland earned a 2025 Red Dot Award for its GXV Hilt.

Red Dot is a training and communication center for companies using design to withstand international competition. The organization is known for its annual Red Dot Design Award, which began in 1955 and began as the Red Dot Award in the 1990s.

Storyteller Overland Lead Industrial Designer Dillon Hollingsworth said, “The Hilt is the first production-scale, RVIA-certified, Class C expedition truck. That matters because it opens the door to traditional RV financing, insurance and nationwide service while still performing in a completely different league.”

The Red Dot is awarded in three categories: product design, brands and communication design, and design concept.

The Red Dot Jury wrote, “The GXV Hilt convincingly combines robust construction with functional features and contemporary comfort.”

Hollingsworth said the entire team at Storyteller Overland was required to bring the vehicle to lift. The Hilt is built on a Ram 5500 chassis.

“For Storyteller, this award sets a new standard,” he said. “It raises the bar for what comes next. We are not here to chase trophies, we are here to keep pushing, to design with purpose and to build vehicles that reflect the people who use them.”
