Thor Industries, Inc. published its eighth annual Sustainability Report detailing the company’s sustainability efforts for its fiscal year ended July 31, 2025, across its global family of companies.
Thor President and CEO Bob Martin said the company is committed to making changes now to ensure a sustainable future.
“At Thor, our sustainability efforts focus not only on creating more innovative products to minimize environmental impact while using our RVs,” Martin said, “but also focus on improving our environmental and social impact within our operations, our value chain and in the communities where our team members live, work and play.”
Thor said the company has taken steps in its sustainability journey. The company said Entegra Coach’s Embark, the world’s first hybrid electric Type A motorhome, illustrates Thor’s successful eMobility strategy. The company said the strategy helps drive lower greenhouse gas emissions by developing electric vehicles to reduce reliance on internal combustion engines.
The company said it elevated eMobility with the Dethleffs’ e.home ECO prototype at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon. Thor said the e.home ECO combines electric mobility and sustainable construction. Nearly every Dethleffs component in the RV prototype has a lower carbon footprint than traditional RV construction components.
Among the company’s sustainability highlights were two rooftop solar projects. Airxcel added rooftop solar to its Kansas RV facility at the end of 2024. Jayco added panels to its Idaho facility in July 2025.
Airstream released its all-electric Basecamp 20Xe trailer in March 2025. The division also expanded its partnership with lithium battery supplier Dragonfly Energy in August 2025.
Thor Industries remains committed to the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in the human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption areas. The company also aligns its sustainability priorities with the UNGC’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Other 2025 sustainability highlights include:
- Decreased global Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 36% vs. the company’s baseline fiscal 2019.
- Decreased Scope 3 emissions by 42% globally vs. the company’s baseline fiscal 2022.
- Initiated alignment of the company’s report disclosures with the upcoming European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
- Submitted the company’s fifth annual Carbon & Climate questionnaire to the CDP to provide visibility and disclosure around efforts to measure, manage, disclose and reduce GHG emissions and water usage.
- Installed solar projects at North American operating companies, which have eliminated the equivalent of 1,076 gasoline vehicles’ emissions after they were driven for one year.
- Executed a “zero-to-landfill” strategy at Erwin Hymer Group UK since December 2024, resulting in no waste in landfill sites.
- Supported and partnered with over 150 non-profit organizations across the Thor family of companies, including a strategic partnership with the National Forest Foundation.
- Honored and publicly recognized in Newsweek’s & Statista’s lists of “Most Trustworthy Companies in America” and “America’s Most Responsible Companies” for a fourth year in a row, as well as in Newsweek’s “America’s Greenest Companies” for a third consecutive year.
Thor Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Todd Woelfer said sustainability is a core component of the company’s long-term vision.
“Creating great outdoor experiences is central to our business, and our sustainability focus strengthens our ability to deliver on that mission,” Woelfer said. “Our global sustainability program reflects a deep-rooted commitment to improving the lives of our team members and customers, supporting vibrant and resilient communities, and promoting a clean and safe environment.”
