Thor Motor Coach’s Gemini AWD and Compass AWD models received a year refresh centered on drivability and modern conveniences for 2021.

Built exclusively on the new Ford Transit chassis, these motorhomes feature a host of modern electronics and four-season weather capability. The all-wheel drive system is meant to provide peace of mind for RVers planning day on the beach or a getaway in the mountains.

The 3.5L EcoBoost engine drives all the wheels on the Gemini and Compass, putting down 306-horsepower and 400-lb. ft. of torque. The RVs include modern safety features such as hill start assist, AdvanceTrac roll stability, side-wind stabilization, lane departure warning and pre-collision assist with emergency braking.

Thor chose to go with the Transit chassis because of the fuel efficiency the new Ford product brings to the table.

The Transit 10-speed transmission and auto start/stop function work together to reduce greenhouse gases and emissions. Other safety features, common on most automobiles, include automatic high beam headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers and tire pressure monitoring.

A new interior décor package is available as part of the “Home Collection,” featuring updated fabric colors with residential cabinets. The cockpit has dual swivel seats, allowing the chairs to become part of the living space when parked. An 8-inch touch screen, Sync 3 audio system provides navigation with voice recognition along with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

The exterior has the classic Type B plus look, with large cab-over glass and HD-MAX fiberglass exterior. A 100-watt solar panel with room for expansion and a higher-capacity house battery are also included.
