RV supplier Truma North America will host its 6th Annual Spring Clean-up April 25 at Woodlawn Nature Center in Elkhart, Indiana.
Truma North America Head of Service, Marketing and Retail Sales Stacey Harris said volunteers will focus on cleaning up the area and trails around the nature center. There will also be a discussion on what sustainability means and arts-and-crafts projects focused on sustainability.
“Sustainability is one of our four core values,” Harris said. “This event allows us to share the reasons behind that value while also giving back to the community that has supported us for the past 13 years.”
Truma was the first corporate sponsor of Elkhart’s Adopt-a-Park program when it launched in 2023. The company added Woodlawn Nature Center as its second adopted park in 2025.
Harris said Truma North America’s headquarters in Elkhart uses solar energy, motion-activated lighting and geothermal heating and cooling to optimize energy use.
“We believe sustainability is about more than simply putting a recycling bin by the copy machine or a water cooler in the breakroom,” Harris said. “It is a conscious effort to make environmentally responsible choices at every possible opportunity.”
Truma said the landscaping around its building features native plant species and is maintained with minimal pesticides.
“Over time, we have witnessed the impact our time has had on High Dive Park and Woodlawn Nature Center,” Harris said. “Our annual Spring Clean Up allows us the opportunity to give back to the community we call home.”
Elkhart Parks Department Volunteer Coordinator Mandi Null said Woodlawn Nature Center sits on 10 acres of parkland, with walking trails and a natural history museum. It has been a community space for over 50 years.
“Many Elkhart residents have fond memories of spending time in the park with their families,” Null said. “Woodlawn is starting to show its age, and, with Truma’s help, we plan to revitalize this space for families to enjoy now and for generations to come.”
