In a virtual town hall tomorrow, U.S. Forest Service Chief Vicki Christiansen and Deputy Chief Chris French will discuss the passage of the Great American Outdoors Act and what it means for the U.S. Forest Service and RVers who love to visit our national forests. Members of the RV industry are invited to join the virtual town hall Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 12 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

“We are really looking forward to hearing from Chief Christiansen and Deputy Chief French on their vision and goals for addressing the maintenance backlog and campground modernization in the U.S. Forest Service,” RVIA Vice President of Government Affairs Jay Landers said. “Our team has been working very closely with the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of Agriculture and we are grateful for their leadership in increasing the access, safety, and enjoyment of RVers in our national forests.”

Vicki Christiansen serves as chief of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service, leading a workforce of more than 28,000 permanent employees who steward 193 million acres of national forests and grasslands; support the world’s largest forestry research organization; and work with states, tribes and others to sustain all forests so they can benefit all citizens, today and in the future. Chris French began his USDA career in 1991 on the Coronado National Forest in Arizona as volunteer in recreation.

Registration for the webinar closes Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. To sign up, participants will need to log into their my.rvia.org account. Those who do not already have an account may consult RVIA’s step-by-step directions on how to create one. After signing up, a link to join the webinar will be emailed directly on the morning of the webinar. Participants will have ample time to ask questions during the presentation.
