To help manufacturers with safety compliance when producing RVs, this year’s edition of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1192, Standard on Recreational Vehicles, is now available for purchase.

RVIA noted that all of its member manufacturers will be required to have a copy of the 2021 edition at all campuses by July 1. The book is $54 for members and $58 for non-members per copy, the association stated.

The new NFPA 1192 edition provides the most current and complete requirements for fire and life safety in RVs. The standard was developed by an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) consensus to deliver a uniform minimum safety standard.

“The standard offers vital information on fire and life safety requirements,” RVIA stated. “NFPA 1192 also covers the proper installation of plumbing, fuel burning, electrical and vehicular safety systems.”

RVIA recommended members stay updated with new RV standard requirements.
