The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued the following recalls.

FORD MOTOR CO.

Loss of Drive Power from Disengaged Axle Shaft

A loss of drive power increases the crash risk. In addition, a half-shaft that is not fully engaged to the primary drive unit can result in a vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is not applied, increasing the injury or crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 32,160

Ford is recalling certain 2022-2025 E-Transit vehicles. The left rear axle half-shaft may partially disengage from the power drive unit, which can result in a loss of drive power.

The remedy is under development. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed Dec. 22, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in March. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 25SD9.

Rear-View Camera Display May Not Operate

A camera that does not display a rear-view image while reversing can reduce the driver’s view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 2

Ford is recalling certain 2022 Transit vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 22V183. The rear-view camera supplied in the Rear Video Camera and Prep Kit will not function when installed by the final stage manufacturer (upfitter), resulting in a blank rear-view image.

Dealers will update the audio control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 23. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 25S68.
