Two weeks after Honda revealed its first RV prototype, South Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai put its new Staria Camper concept van on display at a German trade show.

Hyundai said its camper concept vehicle will elicit feedback from various camping, caravan and adventure enthusiasts from across Europe and beyond. However, the auto manufacturer is unlikely to build or bring an RV to North America.

Hyundai first launched a Staria RV, called the Staria Lounge Camper, in 2022. The vehicle has not entered production outside South Korea.

The Staria was a successful model in South Korea, growing from 26,435 sales in 2022 to 41,118 sales in 2024. A sales breakdown between the Staria traditional van and its Lounge Camper model was unavailable.

Hyundai said representatives will gather and review survey feedback on the Camper Concept. Should the concept receive production approval, Hyundai said it will announce further details later.

If the Camper Concept did go into production, Hyundai said the vehicle would be fully electric. Among its features are a 520-watt solar panel, a pop-top roof, a refrigerator, a sink and a portable shower.
