Wisconsin Governor Signs RV Franchise Bill Into Law

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers signed RV-specific franchise legislation Friday. Wisconsin Bill AB 230 governs manufacturer-dealer relationships for towable RVs.

Automotive franchise laws in many states have legislation that does not pertain to RV dealers. For years, the RV industry has worked to establish exemptions from these laws.

Wisconsin joins 18 other states with RV-specific franchise legislation.

RVIA and the Wisconsin RV Dealers Alliance joined forces to pass this bill.

Greeneway RV owner Mick Ferkey said, “It is a great day for the industry to finally have protection for towable RVs in the state of Wisconsin.”

The bill passed the Wisconsin State Legislature in February. It will go into effect Oct. 1.
