Over four years since Crane Composites was originally expected to stand alone from its parent company, the RV supplier has rebranded under new ownership.
The supplier of fiberglass reinforced panels has rebranded as Valto Engineered Materials. John O’Sullivan, who led Crane Composites since 2017, will remain in charge as Valto’s president.
O’Sullivan said the new name will honor the company’s seven-decade legacy while embracing the future.
O’Sullivan said, “While our name is new, our commitment remains unchanged: delivering quality, performance and innovation with industry-leading service and support.”
The company said Valto is a combination of the words valeo—symbolizing strength, power and protection offered by the company’s product portfolio—and Rialto, for the company’s founding and original offices in the historic Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, Illinois.
Valto’s FRP RV products will continue under the Filon and Noble brands. The new company website is www.valtoem.com.
In May 2021, Crane Composites was part of Crane Co.’s Engineered Materials division that was scheduled to be sold to Grupo Verzatec S.A. de C.V. for $360 million. On March 17, 2022, the Justice Department filed suit to block the sale, citing competition concerns. The two sides rescinded the sale in May 2022.
Crane Composites finally was sold to KPS Capital Partners, LP, for $227 million. The deal closed at the beginning of 2025.
