The year that Oshkosh Custom Chassis became Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) in 1995, the vehicle chassis manufacturer produced 3,800 units. By 2003, Freightliner had made 100,000 chassis.

The fast-growing Gaffney, South Carolina, company introduced its CNG-fueled, walk-in van chassis as its first product in 1996. The company followed with its FS-65 bus chassis release a year later. In 2000, FCCC won a $49 million contract with the U.S. Postal Service.

A growing company facilitated Oasis Network’s launch in 2001. The service network provides RV owners with access to certified technicians, 24/7 contact with the FCCC call center and access to the parts distribution center, where OEM parts can be obtained as quickly as next-day. The FCCC Owners Club became the industry’s largest in 2004.

Along with introducing the front engine diesel chassis in 2005, FCCC named Reid Bigland company president. Under him, FCCC introduced several industry firsts, including factory support in 24/7 Direct and OptiView, the first LCD gauge panel.
